Baby Shower Invitations should Complement and add to the Atmosphere of the Baby Shower Party
Printable Baby Shower Invitations are your Guests First Glimpse
If you are planning an elegant or even a formal occasion your invitations should reflect this. If you are planning to have a fun and laid back affair then of course your invitations need to reflect that.
Different color themes should also be reflected in the style and coloring that you choose. The color should be reflected by the theme if you have chosen to go with a theme.
When choosing invitations for the baby shower, you want to choose designs that coordinate with the type and theme of the shower. Included in the shower will be all the obvious – name of the expectant parents, date and time, location, and a phone number should someone have questions or need directions.
Additionally, including an RSVP will help with the planning stage so this is always highly recommended. However, another important piece of information to include would be that of the theme.
This way, guests will show up with the right type of gift or wearing the right attire. If the couple is registered at various stores for baby gifts, a note to this affect can be added to the bottom of the invitation or as mentioned, mentioned after the RSVP is received.
TIMING
The best time to send invitations out is between three and four weeks prior to the date. This way, the guests, especially those out of town will have plenty of time to make the appropriate arrangements. Remember, if people are coming from other locations, more time would be needed.

- 3-D Bottle
- 3-D Diaper
- 3-D Bib
- 3-D Ducky
Invitations are a great way to reflect the spirit and theme of your shower - whether using packaged invitations, stationary, or designing your own invitation. Here are just a few suggestions:
- Little Diaper Invites - cut out triangles from pink & blue construction paper or felt; write the party details on one side of the triangle with a felt-tip pen, then fold like a diaper and secure with a cute diaper pin. Looks cute !
- Building Blocks - Cut out three squares from three different colors of construction paper; draw A, B, C on one side; overlap them and tape or glue together; and then write your party information on the back of each one of them.
- Bubble Gum Cigar - Announce the baby shower by sending your guests a bubble gum cigar with a tag describing all the party details on it.
Remember this is the first glimpse for the guests as to what your Baby Shower is going to look like.
Thank You Notes
Most mothers-to-be are naturally too busy at a baby shower having fun to try to remember every item that is given to them and by whom. When the mother-to-be is opening the shower presents, have someone at the party jot reminders on a sheet of paper indicating who gave which gift.
Another idea is to have everyone at the party write their own address on a thank you envelope. You can even make a game out of it (each guest can draw a envelope out a hat - mark one envelope as a door price winner). Both of these ideas make it a lot easier for the mother-to-be when she's writing those important thank-you notes later on
Announcements and invitations for all occasions including, birth announcements, photo birth announcements, baptism invitations, christening announcements, baby shower invitations, birthday cards, holiday cards, photo thank you cards and wedding invitations. Baby names too.
The appropriate time ?
There is really no set time to host the baby shower. Most baby showers occur in the last trimester of the mother-to-be's pregnancy stage, however this is not a fixed rule. Some people even have baby showers after the baby is born.
Who puts on the baby shower?
Normally it's a family member on either the father's side or the mother's side who throws a baby shower for the mother-to-be. However, it's really acceptable for any person close to the mother- to-be to throw the baby shower. refer to ettiquette
